There are two main types of chinese cumins - Xinjiang cumin and Gansu cumin. Due to small quantity and expensive price of Xinjiang cumin,  Gansu cumin is more popular in the market.

In late December, chinese cumin seeds once had a slight decline in price. But it remained USD2850/MT FOB Tianjing after new year. Direct reasons may lie in winter cuisine demands and demestic inflation. Considering average-level crop this season, the price would not fall down dramatically.
 
2. Quality
Quality this year is not as good as last year due to the summer rain. The seeds is smaller and color is darker.  The impurity content rate will be higher as the smaller size is hard for wind and sieve processing.
